Two new Brokers have joined the award-winning Colliers Office Leasing team in Auckland.

Devon Grantley-Hogg began as a Commercial Leasing Broker with a focus on the Auckland CBD late last year, while Tom McIntyre started on 1 January as a Commercial Leasing Broker with an eye on the city fringe.

Both team members have a strong background in property, although they have taken different paths to get to their current roles.

Grantley-Hogg studied a Bachelor of Property at the University of Auckland before going on to work for Oyster Property Group and Foodstuffs North Island.

Having worked on both the tenant and landlord side of property transactions, her role at Foodstuffs saw her work as an Assistant Development Manager where she played an instrumental part in securing a large pipeline of new format Four Square stores across the North Island.

“I am incredibly excited to have joined the team at Colliers and look forward to working alongside their office leasing specialists who have considerable experience and are market leaders in our field,” she says.

“This is a great step forward in my career and I am eager to leverage my previous development experience, applying the skills and insights I have gained, to make a meaningful impact.”

McIntyre jumped straight into the property sector out of high school and began selling residential real estate in Lower Hutt, specialising in land acquisitions and development sales.

He later joined Colliers in Wellington as a Property Manager in the Real Estate Management Services team and then moved to Auckland, continuing in a similar role, where he gained a strong grounding for a career in brokerage through working on stay-put leases.

“The environment in the team at Colliers is highly collaborative and I am thankful to be surrounded by so many experienced professionals who I can learn from,” McIntyre says.

“The office leasing space is a dynamic corner of the property sector as businesses continue to assess their work requirements in a post-Covid world and I am keen to provide our clients with the best possible advice.”

The Colliers Office Leasing team in Auckland is led by National Director Rob Bird, while Sam Gallaugher oversees the Brokers who focus on the CBD and Mike van der Putten leads the city fringe specialists.

The team includes some of Colliers’ longest-serving Brokers, such as Paul Dyson who has been with the firm for 34 years.

They have transacted some of the largest office leasing deals in Auckland during the past few years, including Spark’s impending move to the under-construction tower known as Fifty Albert and Beca’s upcoming move to a new premises in Wynyard Quarter.

Their market-leading capabilities were recognised within the industry when they were crowned Real Estate Agency Team of the Year at the RICS New Zealand Awards 2023 in August. They were also honoured internally when they were named Team of the Year – Brokerage at the Colliers awards night in March last year.

Gallaugher says their team has an excellent mix of long-serving Brokers and those who are ready to make their mark.

“We are grateful to have Devon and Tom join our team and believe they have a big future ahead of them,” Gallaugher says.

“Their development in their respective roles is a key focus for us this year and we know they will do an excellent job of providing outstanding service to our clients.”
